Holding Hands

Somatosensory
Neural Engineering
and Human Perception

We promote human connection by restoring and enhancing the sense of touch.
Touch is responsible for helping us understand our surroundings and each other.
We study somatosensation, which are senses related to the skin, and seek to provide somatosensory feedback in order to enable human connection.
Our lab focuses on the discriminative, affective, and proprioceptive aspects of touch.

Research Areas

Who We Are

Our interdisciplinary lab brings together people from psychology, biology, engineering, and nursing. We believe that diversity of backgrounds, identities, experiences, and perspectives is crucial for advancing healthcare for all.
