Perspectives on Neurotechnology
How do we study the experience of neurotechnology users?
Getting at experience starts with centering users and asking thoughtful, open-ended questions that do not just identify challenges with technology, but also explore user needs and contextualize technology in daily life. We study experience primarily with data from interview, surveys, focus groups, and observational methods.
How do we use our understanding of user experience to improve the quality of our technology?
User experience research can support each phase of technology development. It can help technology developer think outside the box, identify practical design changes that will improve its compatibility with daily life in future iterations, as well as ensure the technology will meet user needs.
